Birds

There are over 200 different kinds of birds in the swamp.

One of the birds you see most often is the egret. They are white.

Another bird is the heron. Some of these are gray.

A lot of swamp birds have long legs so they can stand in the water. They have long beaks so they can dip into the water to catch fish.

Other swamp birds are osprey, kingfishers, blackbirds, turkeys, woodpeckers, owls, and warblers. These birds make a lot of different noises.
